But then it changed. Suddenly. We all woke up to rain. But it was the morning of their Hakone destination wedding… and this fabulous couple decided they weren’t waiting for the rain to stop. They wanted to experience it.

So, surrounded by guests from all over the world … they stepped into the open air and said their vows as droplets danced off umbrellas all around them.

In the midst of the ceremony, the couple performed San San Kudo … the traditional Japanese three-three-nine-times sake ritual symbolizing the union of two families.
