Life is Uncertain. Eat dessert first.
Wow – what a crazy time we live in. Especially here in the events industry. All those weddings around the world postponed due to Covid-19. Isn’t it a wise old saying that STRESSED spelled backwards is DESSERTS?
With almost all our events now finally rescheduled – (boy was that a puzzle of dates and uncertainty – thank you thank you thank you lovely couples for your patience and understanding), that stress has now made way for moving forward. Thank goodness. Weddings are looking a little bit different in many ways. But love is love. And to celebrate it is everything.
To get through the wedding rescheduling puzzle (dates at the end of 2020 and into 2021 are now very scarce with the postponed 2020 weddings taking these dates) we ABSOLUTELY had our share of desserts to help us through. (Thank you for the surprise cheesecake in the mail Chihiro!! OMG it was divine!) Topped off with a lot of champagne from so many beautiful friends and clients. It’s been SO appreciated. And believe us, we set up a Prosecco table and indulgently consumed on dates we were to be celebrating with you all.
For some of our couples, not only have we shared some cake and champagne over Zoom & FaceTime on their intended wedding date, we also had the joy to watch two beautiful souls show us their first dance. (Mark and Liz, the computer screen just didn’t do it justice!! I think you forgot we were there!!) We can’t wait to see it in person very very soon.
Our hearts were truly aching for all of our beautiful couples who had to postpone their weddings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But our hearts are now starting to feel full again, with the absolute positivity, support and genuine caring that our couples have embraced us with. It’s incredible to us that they’ve found a way to stay calm and also completely excited for their celebration. Whenever that may now be.
If we have to be quarantined in our home instead of celebrating your wedding day… then it’s what we said above. It all comes down to desserts. And love. And caring.
So, if STRESSED backwards is DESSERTS…
…then we can’t forget PIES. “We must have pies. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.” So shout out to the incredible PUNK DOILY – our favorite Aussie pie maker in Tokyo. With the BEST meat pies and sausage rolls. They have been the best comfort food ever. Kif – THANK YOU!
Again, thank you for your understanding and support. It was a rescheduling puzzle. It took until May to finally work it all out. We got there x
PS: Thinking of getting married or eloping in Japan in 2021?
Because late 2020 & early 2021 wedding and elopement dates are now far and few between due to all the rescheduled wedding celebrations, if you’re planning a 2021 wedding or elopement, we’d suggest getting in touch with your preferred vendors asap. The past couple of months as we’ve worked with our couples to rebook and reschedule their vendors and suppliers, we’ve found an enormous amount of their preferred dates already taken at many venues. Venues and suppliers will be in short supply next year… but as we always say – with great planning comes great reward.
So please reach out and CONTACT US HERE if there’s any way we can help plan your beautiful day. We’ll always do our best to help. x
