There is nothing more beautiful than getting married or eloping at Mt Fuji, Japan.
With great risk comes great reward. That’s the first thing we say to all our couples who have Mt Fuji in mind for their wedding celebration. While stunning and iconic, she’s notoriously shy. Mt Fuji is Mother Nature at her most divine.
She is the heart and soul of Japan and when she appears before you, it is a take your breath away moment that can stay with you forever. A Mt Fuji Outdoor Wedding is what dreams are made of.
When Is Mt Fuji visible?
In March this year, Mt Fuji was only visible 11 days of 31, but sometimes, magically, everything aligns. And it did.
Charlotte and Taichi eloped on the shores of Lake Shoji in early Spring surrounded by close family from around the world for an intimate, beautiful and meaningful day. We’re always anxious planning a wedding at Mt Fuji. Will it be a clear day? We saw a mere glimpse of her snowcap at sunrise and we knew the day was going to be as perfect as they dreamed. The anticipation slid easily into excitement and by the time the sun was fully up, wow, were we rewarded.
The landscape around the Fuji Five Lakes is something quite inspiring and although a popular destination still has a sense of remoteness and space that’s magical and perfect for for the soul.
The Reception
After an incredible and emotional ceremony, this beautiful couple were blessed by a Japanese monk. This was followed by an iconic horn blowing recessional and they were serenaded by beautifully talented musicians. They had the natural wedding reception of their vegan dreams at the Solar Cafe and Earth Embassy nearby.
After a delicious vegan lunch, it was back to the Lake to watch the sunset together. The sun set on their perfect Mt Fuji wedding day, but was just rising on their life together.
“Aspire to be like Mt. Fuji, with such a broad and solid foundation that the strongest earthquake cannot move you, and so tall that the greatest enterprises of common men seem insignificant from your lofty perspective. With your mind as high as Mt Fuji you can see all things clearly. And you can see all the forces that shape events; not just the things happening near to you. – Miyamoto Musashi
