They Eloped in Tokyo. And it was Perfect.
Many of the elopements we’ve planned or photographed (or both) have been in iconic locations around the world with breathtaking backdrops. Eloping in Tokyo or an Elopement wedding in Tokyo is just as spectacular. Contemporary city elopements are one of our most requested kind of celebrations.
When Martina & Lucio first contacted us about planning their Tokyo elopement, we were beyond delighted. It’s always our biggest joy to plan something uniquely personal.
They flew in from Italy a couple of days before and the only challenge was narrowing down all the incredible Tokyo photo locations we can choose from.
The Italian Embassy in Tokyo Elopement
The ceremony would be at the Italian Embassy. And then ideas were flowing for showcasing Tokyo for our time together. Champagne on rooftops, shrines and gardens. Gritty Tokyo train tracks and an izakaya to celebrate. Old meets new Tokyo. The very perfect story.
Martina’s one request was blossoms for her Elopement Wedding in Tokyo. Those iconic Japanese sakura. And lots of them. But with their wedding date falling at the end of April, the famous Tokyo cherry blossoms were going to be long gone. But not to worry we can always finds something in April. And our planning team got to work.
There might not be the regular Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms around, but we were sure that we could find something beautifully floral. Flowers, flowers, flowers. And we did. Double blossoms (our favorites…), colorful azaleas and more. Once all the permits were obtained, we were locked in and ready to take on the day.
Spring Elopement in Tokyo
From intimate getting ready moments at the uber-stylish Claska Hotel in Meguro to the beautiful, relaxed ceremony at the Italian Embassy in Minato-ku. It was everything. Taking in Tokyo, in a spirit of adventure & love. Just them. Married.
That perfect Tokyo wedding day we’d all been dreaming of. Traipsing through flowers, a shrine blessing and the perfect cold beer to finish (and a stunning Kaiseiki celebratory dinner booked right afterwards).
Elopements are just so special & intimate. It’s makes us believe in love all over again and we live vicariously through the love of travel which brings our amazing couples to Tokyo – as they take the road less travelled to get married in Japan. And their Tokyo elopement photos are forever. Congratulations on the most beautiful Tokyo Spring Wedding day…
